Second Graders attend music class every week for 50 minutes. During Second Grade, they learn how to follow music in individual music books for the first time! In addition, they'll be learning about the Brass family of instruments. You can learn how the Brass family got it's start by watching the Disney video above this paragraph.
During second grade, our students learn to use the solfeggio pitch names. We started the year by seeing portions of the movie "The Sound of Music" and by learning to sing "Do-Re-Mi". This song is a favorite all around the world - watch the flash mob version from Belgium below!
